Zero Carbon Committed! An ESG Special with Nicola Peill-Moelter, Director of Sustainability Innovation at VMware

The next frontier for innovation is sustainable computing! When we reflect on 2023 priority areas, advancing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) impact is increasingly centre stage, especially with the resonance that investment here creates shared value benefits for business and societal innovation. So how can we move beyond rising consciousness and transparency around ESG, to accountability on results that is measurable, comparable and scalable too?

In this special feature, I am delighted to be joined by the brilliant Nicola Peill-Moelter, Director of Sustainability Innovation at VMware, which sits in the Office of the CTO. We focus on the role of technology leadership and all things actualisation when it comes Sustainability, covering areas including sustainable computing through workload energy and carbon efficiency, the 2030 Agenda and decarbonisation of digital infrastructures, the critical role of developers, supported by sustainability dashboard innovation, and the power of partnership and ecosystem collaboration for change.

Sally Eaves has been described as the ‘torchbearer for ethical tech’. She is an international advocate for opening access to opportunity and has founded Aspirational Futures to help skill, empower and support the generation of interdisciplinary talent into careers yet to be conceived, alongside scaling the application of emergent technology as an enabler for business transformation and social good.
